Croydon Netball League are delighted with their newly resurfaced courts at their home venue Shirley High School, Croydon. Working with England Netball and Shirley High School we have been able to have the courts resurfaced, new markings, new sunken posts and new perimeter fencing. The League are also busy fund raising to cover the cost of installing floodlights on the courts so that we can bring our Monday and Thursday evening leagues to the same venue.
To help us celebrate the opening of the new courts we asked along the local Conservative MP for Croydon, Gavin Barwell, along with Mrs Maureen Clark, president of the Surrey County Netball Association, Edward Handley, Chairman of the Croydon Playing Fields, Jackie Rowland, the CNL Chairman and Julia Martin CNL Treasurer. Leigh Martin, Surrey's development officer who gave this project so much of her time and support, CNL committee ladies, who have all worked towards this goal, were also along to see the fruits of their hard work.
Finally a surprise visit from Rhea Dixon England U21 Vice captain/Surrey Storm also helped to raise the profile of this occasion.
