Howard & Shirley A 35 - Portas A 30

 Howard & Shirley A faced their old rivals Portas A in this play off for the Croydon Netball League Division one title.

This fast and furious games saw H & S overturning the first centre pass and took the lead from the start. With the shooting duo of Kellie Gardner and Lyn Holmes left Portas defence running out of ideas of how to deal with this awesome partnership, Winning the first quarter 11-8.

Portas fought back valiantly with some strong centre court play, but H & S were having none of it, defence players Dom Jennings and Lesley Carter didn't give Portas shooters Paula Ableman and Fiona Bateman an inch. Second Q ending 20-14

The 3rd quarter H & S let it slip with a few carless errors for Portas to creep back in to the game 24-21.

The final quarter saw H & S once again step up their game. The young Wing Defence Charlotte Barr was in her element making light work of her play. H & S held on to the end with a final score of 35 - 30, they took the title for the 1st time in their history.
